The LBSC is a new 6 week course designed to equip YWAM staff to spiritually carry and lead in ministry settings, while fostering a lifestyle of living by the Spirit. Whether you serve in a training environment, work in a ministry or the frontiers, this course is designed to increase your effectiveness as a spiritual leader.
The course incorporates 3 components:
- The condensed content of the School of Intercessory Prayer
- Developing other gift clusters usually associated with people anointed in the area of prayer (such as discernment, prophecy, worship, warfare, ministry facilitation, deliverance, inner healing and prophetic evangelism).
- Leadership skills (specifically leading by the Spirit and facilitation principles from one-on-one to large group settings)
The LBSC will bring the understanding of an SOIP and add the tools to see breakthrough in a frontier missions context, to lead prayer outreaches, facilitate 24/7 prayer ministries, facilitate prayer, ministry, worship or prophetic ministry or workshops, reach out to the lost and be equipped to pray people through any bondage in their life. It is broad in context and can be applied in any ministry context.
The course also includes:
- Local prophetic evangelism outreaches
- Local strategic prayer outreach
- Partnering alongside ‘Bethesda House’, for practical application, worship, and prayer
- One on one/group mentoring and coaching
In 2011 we ran our first 2 LBSC’s, one in Muizenberg and one in the Middle East. We also ran a 6 week internship after the first LBSC in Muizenberg through a ministry called Bethesda House, which is part of the Bethesda Team on the YWAM Base. The past LBSC we ran in Muizenberg was amazing and God revealed himself in so many incredible ways to the students and in the community where we live. Half the school stayed behind to be involved in the ministry of Bethesda and what we do here as a Bethesda Team. During those weeks of lectures and the internship we saw about 20 salvations, 5 recommitments, a deaf ear healed, scoliosis healed, opportunity to pray for over 150 people (many of whom are unsaved) and prophesy over them and see God’s truth revealed. We also were involved in a strategic prayer outreach in Muizenberg and saw headlines in our newspapers that were directly related to what we prayed for. This Spirit Lead leadership course is short and to the point, but we have seen God move in incredible ways through the students and in the community that we live in.
